OTHERS

First of all I would love to say thank you to all my veiwers, I think it's really cool that you all read my blog. :)
I would also like to wish you all a Merry Christmas! Today I am going to write about Christmas, this will be based upon what my Pastor was talking about at my youth a couple weeks ago. I would like to thank my youth Pastor, you always give amazing sermons and I learn alot from you! Enjoy!

The true meaning of Christmas. It is not about the presents, the food, or Santa Claus, and no- it is not about Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer or Frosty the Snowman either. Instead it is all about our saviour.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16,17

Christmas is about giving- God gave us his one and only Son, can you imagine that? How hard also must it have been for Jesus who was in heaven with his Father; to leave all of that and come to earth and become a man, just so that he could be tortured and die. All for our sake so that we could also one day join him in Heaven. That is the best gift to be given; for all our sins to be forgiven, and to be loved. The gifts, food, and stories are all fun traditions at Christmas; but please, don`t let that become your main focus. Keep your eyes on God, for HE is the true meaning of Christmas. So this Christmas; do not worry about yourself, or what you will be getting for Christmas. Instead worry about what you will be doing for OTHERS, just like Jesus did.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 2:3-5

God gave me his Son so I could be forgiven and live in Heaven with Him. So this Christmas I also have a gift to give. My first gift is that I would like to try my hardest to make the people I love, and the people I see all around me feel blessed. My second gift is to my Saviour/Dad. Yes, I am a Christian; but I truely mess up alot and don`t always live my live for the Lord like I should. So this Christmas I am making the commitment to try harder in my everyday life to live it to the fullest for my Lord. Dad, this is my gift from me to you, thank you for sending your Son to save me. :)

Merry Christmas everyone, hope today is an amazing day and that you are all very blessed!
(Verses taken from the NIV)

Dedicated to my youth pastor- Colin

  1. Wow, Alyssa, this is amazing. That a blessing! You have a gift for writing, that is for sure! It was so easy to read and follow your thoughts. You kept the focus and flow very clear and did not waste ANY words. It was brief and fun to read. Keep this up I'm sure it will be a blessing to many people as they see how God is speaking so clearly to you. It was already a huge blessing to me! Well done!
